Then I used Unigine Heaven benchmark, constant crashes there. Playing videos crashes the driver also. I have tried the last 2 drivers from Nvidia, the results are the same. I am not sure what the problem is, because other than these errors the PC seems to be working fine, temps are normal, I also tested the RAM with the Windows built in test, no problems found there.
I know there could be many reasons for my problem and I just want to get some feedback on what to check, I have some ideas myself but I just want to be sure I am not missing something. Joined Jul 9, Messages 11, Then it is so much easier to pinpoint the problem area. It’s no secret about my negative opinion concerning G. Skill RAM, so I always suspect it as a prime possible culprit.
Overclocking of the RAM X. Thank you for your input. I didn’t think it was a RAM issue because it passed the test but I didn’t have time yesterday to test more default settings. Thank you for your suggestions, will try and report back. Joined Jun 11, Messages Are you using 2 memory modules or 4? And if you are using 2, are they in the 2 and 4 RAM slots? Joined Mar 14, Messages 8, I did some testing with the RAM , while the system was more stable no BSOD , it had the same error again driver crash only seconds after running Crysis3.
I also ran Unigine benchmark, it passed with no errors only 2 out of the 4 tests. Plus, something a lot weirder happened during the last benchmark, the driver crashed, then the benchmark became a slide show. But it wasn’t just the benchmark, the whole system was crawling, even after I closed the program. I reset the pc and it couldn’t even post. I reset again, entered the BIOS and it just froze. I had to clear CMOS in order to be able to boot again.
I’ve never ran into these kinds of problems before and I’m a little disappointed. I can use RAM from a friend to see if there’s anything different but it seems to me the problem is something else and I can’t think of what it is. Joined Feb 11, Messages 9, Nvidia GTX G. The GPU was working flawlessly for over a year in my previous system so I think that’s the least possible suspect. I’ll be testing a lot more thoroughly over the weekend as my time during the week is limited and I hope I have a better understanding of what’s causing the problems.
Joined Jun 24, Messages 4. I had a similar problem, everytime I tried to update display driver it froze on me. So it works properly now? I had a similar experience with that god awful program. Lucid Virtu. What seems to make the difference is I took the cpu out, cleaned it, applied thermal paste and reseat it in the socket. I did this mainly to check if there were any bent pins didn’t see any. After this I ran 4 consecutive benchmarks unigine without errors.
I know I need to test more but this was not happening before. Is it possible that the cpu was not seated correctly? Anyway back to some more testing. Well I don’t even know what Virtu is so I’ll take the first part of your answer Thanks.
I think I can report now that everything turned out to be fine after reseating the cpu, first time something like this has happened to me. Anyway thank you for your suggestions and ideas, I can now be a happy owner of this board and this system.
